On 17th September 2020

Ever since news broke out that Amazon’s Alexa is going to use Amitabh Bachchan’s voice as its next celebrity guest, we have been super excited, here in India. Amitabh’s voice is one of those iconic ones that comes rarely once every century. Utilised in every possible genre of film, TV, music, narration, background score and online gaming, Mr Bachchan’s deep, earthy voice is nothing less than a royal one.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if Amazon’s Alexa could say these iconic dialogues that have been made historic by Mr Bachchan? You know, lines like:

“VIJAY DEENANATH CHAUHAN”

Uff, this heavy announcement of his name in Agneepath shook us all. Can’t imagine Alexa repeating it though.

“DON KO PAKADNA MUSHKIL HI NAHI, NAMUMKIN HAI”

Can you imagine a little robot voice trying to capture the badass-ness of Amitabh’s Don? It’ll be hilarious.

KABHI KABHI MERE DILMEINKHAYALAATA HAI – KI ZINDAGITERIZULFON KI NARMCHHAON MAIN GUZARNEPADTI TO SHADAB HO BHISAKTITHI

Such poetry. Such beauty. Such grace. No robot can ever imitate that, no matter how hard they tried.

MUJHE JO SAHI LAGTA HAI MAIN KARTA HOON, FIR CHAHE WO BHAGWAN KE KHILAAF HO, KANOON KE KHILAF HO YA PURE SYSTEM KE KHILAAF.

Remember the chills you got in theatres while watching Sarkar, when Amitabh’s kinda evil character spat dialogues this revolutionary?

“MAIN AAJ BHI PHENKE HUE PAISE NAHI UTHATA”

Deewar had some of Mr Bachchan’s most badass lines and the sassiest ones in Bollywood history.

“TUMHARA NAAM KYA HAI, BASANTI?”

In Sholay, Amitabh’s lines were as funny as they were fight-ready. This level of wit is unmatched by any machine

“MAIN AUR MERI TANHAYI”

The pain in his voice while saying this dialogue in Silsila is super relatable to all of us. It’ll be so fun to have Alexa say this.

“PAISA TOH HAR KOI KAMA LETA HAI … LEKIN IZZAT KAMANA SABKE BAS KI BAAT NAHI”

The lean, mean, principled machine that Bachchan played was the epitome of every Indian father in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.

“LOCK KIYA JAAYE?”

Okay, this isn’t from a movie, it’s from KBC, but it’s probably one of Amitabh Bachchan’s most iconic ones. You can’t think of a lock and not think of Mr Bachchan’s deep voice on KBC asking if you want to lock it or not.

“RISHTE MEIN TOH HUM TUMHARE BAAP LAGTE HAIN, NAAM HAI SHAHENSHAH”

Shahenshah was literally full of the sassiest, most power-driven dialogues that any Bollywood film has ever seen.

How do you think these dialogues will sound when they come out of Amazon’s Alexa machine? Do you want them to say any more Amitabh Bachchan dialogues? Tell us on facebook.com/sangeetradiohouston
